A look at the ACC standings for men's basketball this morning, with the league approaching the halfway point of the conference schedule (nine of 18 games) shows that the Virginia Tech Hokies are in a six-team group with four conference losses.

ACC Standings

Virginia hosts Louisville this Wednesday night, giving the Cavaliers a chance to separate from the rest of the conference by three games in the loss column. But that's a sidenote to Virginia Tech fans, who are more focused on the huge logjam of teams (11) with three, four, or five losses.

The Hokies travel to Boston College Wednesday night for a big game (they're all big at this point) that could enable the Hokies to knock BC two losses behind Tech in the ACC standings. The Hokies are 3-11 all time in Chestnut Hill, since the two teams started playing in-conference games in 2000. But that includes two straight comfortable wins by the Hokies in the last two seasons, 71-56 and 91-75.
