Virginia Tech Basketball Recruiting: Three 2019 Recruits Decommit

All three members of Virginia Tech basketball's 2019 recruiting class have decommitted from the Hokies, within the span of a single day.

Center BJ Mack (6-7, 250) out of Oak Hill (VA) via Charlotte (NC) Christian, and twin point guards Keyshaun Langley (6-0, 140) and Kobe Langley (6-1, 150) out of Southwest Guilford (High Point, NC) have all decommitted.

The Langleys are both 3-star recruits, per the 247Sports composite rankings. Mack has no ranking. All three players announced their commitments to Virginia Tech on September 22, 2016, and they have also announced their decommitments together, within 25 minutes of each other on Twitter.

On the surface, the decommits sound alarming, but an article by Langston Wertz, Jr. of the Charlotte Observer reveals that Mack, his family, and Virginia Tech arrived at the decision together:

Mack’s father, Brian, told the Observer that both parties agreed to the decision and that his son was re-opening his recruitment.

In addition, basketball recruiting sources have told TechSideline.com that the decommitments shouldn't be a source of concern.
