New Virginia Tech vice president and director of athletics Brian White met with the media for the first time on Wednesday and was introduced to Hokie fans via a livestreamed press conference.
More stories from the media session will come later, but the first important item of note is the details of his compensation.
The press was issued a copy of the contract terms with the basic details of White's compensation. Tech also provided a list of White's annual performance bonuses.

Total: $8 million
Annual Base Compensation:
- 2026-27: $500,000
- 2027-28: $500,000
- 2028-29: $500,000
- 2029-30: $500,000
- 2030-31: $500,000
Annual Supplemental Compensation:
- 2026-27: $1,100,000
- 2027-28: $1,100,000
- 2028-29: $1,100,000
- 2029-30: $1,100,000
- 2030-31: $1,100,000
Total Annual Compensation:
- 2026-27: $1,600,000
- 2027-28: $1,600,000
- 2028-29: $1,600,000

Relocation Bonus: One-time $65,000 payment for moving expenses
Annual Performance Bonus:
- Football:
- Bowl game appearance: $25,000
- College Football Playoff game appearance: $50,000
- If football team wins the following number of regular-season games:
- 6 wins: $25,000
- 8 wins: $50,000
- 10 wins: $75,000
- 12 wins: $100,000
- Basketball:
- Men's and women's basketball postseason appearances in the NCAA Tournament will be in the sum of $15,000 per team
- Olympic Team Sports:
- A national championship by an Olympic team sport will be in the sum of $15,000
- ACC:
- If a team wins an ACC regular-season championship or a conference tournament title, it'll be a non-cumulative bonus in the sum of $10,000 per team
- Cumulative College Athlete GPA:
- Cumulative intercollegiate student-athlete average GPA of 3.0 or higher at the end of each academic year will be in the sum of $10,000
