He's a three-star cornerback from Paramus Catholic in New Jersey. Virginia was the Hokies' biggest competition in his recruitment process, but he visited Blacksburg in May and committed soon after.
Here's how the recruiting services view him:
• 247Sports: No. 37 CB, No. 12 in N.J.
• ESPN: No. 47 CB, No. 13 in N.J.
• On3: No. 69 CB, No. 15 in N.J.
Barrett's Power Four offer list included Auburn, Boston College, Duke, Michigan State, Minnesota, NC State, Syracuse, Wisconsin and West Virginia.
He's the Hokies' 18th commitment in their 2027 class and the third defensive back, joining Chase Johnson and Elijah Butler.
