Virginia Tech and Mike Young added a commitment from Stetson guard Ethan Copeland on Tuesday.

Copeland averaged 15.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game in one season with the Hatters (12-21, 7-11 ASUN). He shot 109-for-254 (42.9%) from 3-point range, a mark that led the conference and ranked 16th in the country. He averaged 3.3 triples per game, too, the second-most in the Atlantic Sun and the 15th-most in Division I.

Copeland knocked down four-plus 3-pointers in 13 games, including eight with at least five makes. He scored in double figures in 26 of Stetson's 33 games, which included nine 20-point performances. Four of those came in the final six contests, including three in a row to end the year, along with a 27-point outing vs. Central Arkansas.

He was part of a group that shot 36.3 percent from behind the arc, the second-highest clip in the league and good for 47th in the country. One of his assistant coaches with the Hatters was former Hokies assistant Christian Webster.

The Sunnyside, Wash., native starred at Lone Peak High School in Highland, Utah, where he was an all-state selection. He began his career at Utah State University Eastern. He spent his sophomore season at Salt Lake City Community College, where he averaged 15.5 points per game and was 38 percent (71-for-187) from long range, before taking his talents to Stetson.

Copeland joins a large incoming recruiting class in Blacksburg that features Kuol Atak, Miles Heide, Isaiah Elohim, Ned Hull, Jaylen Curry and Musa Sagnia.
