Virginia Tech men's basketball and Mike Young received a commitment from Elon guard Ned Hull on Monday, he announced on Instagram.
Hull averaged 4.5 points and 1.8 rebounds per game as a redshirt sophomore for the Phoenix (14-18, 6-12 CAA) this season while shooting 35.8 percent from 3-point range (34-for-95). He came off the bench and played in all 32 games while averaging 18 minutes. On the year, his 34.6 percent clip from deep in league play ranked 25th, per Ken Pomeroy.
He reached double figures on three occasions, all of which came in CAA play:
• Jan. 29 vs. William & Mary: 14 pts, 5-for-7 FG, 4-for-6 3FG, 2 reb, 2 ast
• Feb. 5 at Hampton: 15 pts, 5-for-8 FG, 4-for-6 3FG, 5 reb, 1 ast
• March 7 vs. William & Mary: 15 pts, 5-for-11 FG, 4-for-8 3FG, 4 reb, 4 ast
The Charlotte, N.C., native had an up-and-down true freshman season before missing his sophomore campaign due to an injury and redshirting. He was a solid weapon from deep this year with Elon, which also included seven total games with multiple 3-point makes. Three of those came against UNC Greensboro, Greensboro and Stony Brook.
The fourth was in Blacksburg against the Hokies on Dec. 20 — a game Elon almost won, but Tech scraped out in overtime. In 20 minutes off the bench, he knocked down two of his three triples for six points while adding two boards.
Hull is the fourth commit of the offseason for the Hokies, joining Kuol Atak, Miles Heide and Isaiah Elohim. Virginia Tech now has nine scholarship players for the 2026-27 season. For more information on the outlook for next year, click here for Tech Sideline's roster management page.
