Virginia Tech and Mike Young made a splash on Saturday when they received a commitment from Florida Atlantic guard Isaiah Elohim. On3's Joe Tipton first reported the news, which Elohim confirmed.

He's the third portal addition of the offseason for the Hokies, joining forward Kuol Atak (Oklahoma) and center Miles Heide (San Diego State).

Blacksburg is the third stop for Elohim, who was a four-star recruit and the No. 51 prospect in the 2024 class out of Sierra Canyon, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He visited Arkansas, Kansas, and Villanova, but chose USC. Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, Oregon and Texas were among the other schools interested.

He spent one season with the Trojans (17-18, 7-13 Big Ten) and played in 18 games, with one double-digit outing: 11 points on 4-for-4 shooting in a loss at Purdue. He averaged 2.1 points per game.

Elohim transferred to Florida Atlantic last offseason and started all 32 games for the Owls (18-15, 9-9 AAC) while boosting his averages to 12.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.

He scored in double figures in 23 games, including 10 of the final 13, which included three performances of 20-plus points. He dropped 20 points on East Carolina, a career-high 22 at Rice and 20 in the AAC Tournament vs. North Texas. Elohim also notched his first career double-double on Feb. 4 vs. Tulsa with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The North Hills, Calif., native shot 46.5 percent from the field (114-for-310) and 36.8 percent from 3-point range (39-for-106) for FAU. In league-only play, he ranked third in turnover rate (8.7%), 10th in effective field goal percentage (54.1%), 15th in 2-point percentage (56.6%) and 17th in both true shooting percentage (56.8%) and offensive rating (116.9).

Elohim should pair nicely with Ben Hammond and Tyler Johnson in the Hokies' backcourt in 2026-27.

With Elohim's commitment, Virginia Tech now has eight scholarship players for the 2026-27 season. For more information on the Hokies' outlook for next year, click here for Tech Sideline's roster management page.
