Virginia Tech and James Franklin added another piece to their wide receiver room in the form of Penn State's Tyseer Denmark.

The Philadelphia native caught four passes for 45 yards and a touchdown in two seasons with the Nittany Lions while redshirting in 2024 as a true freshman. PFF credited him with 71 snaps over that span. His touchdown was a 15-yarder off a pass from Beau Pribula as time expired on Nov. 30, 2024, vs. Maryland.
Denmark was highly recruited out of the Imhotep Charter Institute, where he won a state championship as a senior with a perfect 15-0 record. Rivals ranked him as a four-star prospect and the No. 8 player in Pennsylvania while the other three services gave him three-star status.
He originally chose the Nittany Lions over the likes of Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame Ohio State, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, USC, West Virginia, Wisconsin and others.
He’s the Hokies’ fourth offseason addition to their wide receiver room, joining Jeff Exinor Jr. (Penn State), Que’Sean Brown (Duke) and Marlion Jackson (Louisiana Tech), and the 24th overall acquisition.
