On Wednesday, Virginia Tech football announced its 2026 spring game will be played on Saturday, April 18, in Lane Stadium. The kickoff time is TBD. Admission will be free.
It's a later spring game compared to the last two, which occurred on April 12 and 13, respectively.
"The spring game will be our first chance to take the field in front of our fans," Tech head coach James Franklin said in the school's release. "When Hokie Nation shows up, it sends a message to recruits, opponents and the country about how seriously Virginia Tech takes football. That environment lifts our players and fuels the way we compete. We look forward to seeing Hokie Nation pack the stands and bring the energy that makes this place special."
Tech's spring semester begins on Tuesday, Jan. 20, and the Hokies have added several players from the transfer portal who will enroll early and participate in spring practice and the annual spring game.
The ACC is also expected to release the 2026 football schedules in the coming weeks.
Outside of football, other Tech sporting events that weekend include lacrosse vs. Virginia, baseball's three-game series vs. Pitt at English Field and softball's three-game series vs. Georgia Tech at Tech Softball Park. There will also be the 3.2-mile Run in Remembrance.
