Virginia Tech and James Franklin added another defensive end in Penn State's Cortez Harris on Sunday, he announced on Twitter.

The Largo, Md., native played in two games for the Nittany Lions this season while redshirting. According to PFF, he was on the field for 20 snaps, 13 of which came against Villanova on Sept. 13.
Out of Riverdale Baptist High School, ESPN gave Harris a four-star rating and ranked him as the No. 8 player in Maryland and the No. 264 overall player in the 2025 class. The other three recruiting services had him as a three-star prospect.
His Power 4 offers included Alabama, Cincinnati, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Pitt, Rutgers, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech.
He's the Hokies' 18th portal pickup of the offseason and the fifth defensive end, joining Daniel Jennings (Penn State), Javion Hilson (Missouri), Kamauryn Morgan (Baylor) and Mylachi Williams (Penn State).
