Virginia Tech received its third offensive line commitment of the transfer cycle Sunday morning when Penn State big man Michael Troutman III pledged to the Hokies, he announced on Instagram.

A 2025 signee, he redshirted last season with the Nittany Lions and has four years of eligibility remaining.

Troutman was a unanimous three-star prospect out of DePaul Catholic in Wayne, N.J., and a top-15 player in the state, according to On3 and ESPN. He picked Penn State early in the process while also considering Boston College and Rutgers. His other Power 4 offers included Duke, Michigan State, Pitt, Syracuse and Texas A&M.

He joins Justin Bell (Michigan State) and Logan Howland (Oklahoma) in the Hokies' transfer class. While they're projected as tackles, Troutman figures to play on the interior of the line.

Troutman is the 16th transfer Virginia Tech has received a commitment from in this cycle. For more information on the Hokies' comings and goings in the portal, click here for Tech Sideline's roster management page.
