Eric Mensah's college football career has come full circle.

The one-time Virginia Tech commitment in high school, who flipped to sign with Ohio State in 2023, has committed to the Hokies as a transfer with three years of eligibility left.

The 6-foot-2, 302-pound defensive tackle made his decision known on social media Sunday.

A product of Mountain View High School in Stafford, Mensah was committed to the Hokies and Brent Pry for two months in the summer of 2023 before flipping to Ohio State in September and signing with the Buckeyes that December. He appeared in four games as a reserve during his time with the Buckeyes, making two tackles.

He was a unanimous three-star prospect and a top-16 player in the Commonwealth of Virginia. ESPN had him the highest at No. 8 with On3 at No. 10, 247Sports at No. 11 and Rivals at No. 16. Boston College, Duke, Maryland, Virginia, Wake Forest and West Virginia made up his Power 4 offers in his original recruitment.

Mensah is the 17th transfer and fourth defensive lineman for Tech this cycle, though he's the first who plays on the interior. The edge additions include Daniel Jennings, Javion Hilson and Kamauryn Morgan.
