Virginia Tech has picked up another transfer portal commitment, this time from Louisiana running back Bill Davis, he told Tech Sideline and later announced on social media.

Davis, at 5-9, 225, is a bowling ball of a running back in the form of Khalil Herbert, Bhayshul Tuten and Terion Stewart. He led the Ragin’ Cajuns in rushing in 2025 with 763 yards on 158 carries and scored six rushing touchdowns. He also caught 10 passes.

Here are his career stats:

• Rushing: 357 carries, 1,752 yards, 4.9 ypc, 18 TDs
• Receiving: 22 catches, 169 yards, 7.7 avg, 1 TD

Davis had a pair of 100-yard rushing games in 2025 against McNeese State and UL Monroe. He also rushed for 100-plus yards twice in 2024 against Tulane and Coastal Carolina.
