Seldon was once ranked as the No. 1 recruit in the state of Virginia by 247Sports. He signed with Tennessee out of high school but didn’t see much playing time as a running back, putting up 252 yards on 55 carries in two seasons.
He transferred to Virginia Tech before the 2025 season and was converted to a wide receiver. After scoring a touchdown in the spring game on a trick play, he was a part of the rotation at receiver for the entire year, catching 23 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns, on top of running for 28 yards on seven jet sweeps. He also returned four kickoffs for the Hokies.
However, Seldon’s athleticism never translated to the field, and he averaged just 7.2 yards per reception and 13.5 yards per kickoff return.
He’s the third Virginia Tech player to enter the transfer portal since James Franklin’s arrival in November, joining quarterbacks Garret Rangel and Pop Watson. Click here for Tech Sideline’s roster management page.
