Virginia Tech picked up another commitment when athlete Tyrell Grant (Nansemond River, Suffolk, Va.) flipped from Syracuse to the Hokies on Signing Day.

Grant committed to the Orange after a summer visit and didn’t take any other visits over the course of the season. However, once James Franklin was hired by the Hokies, he quickly set up a trip and committed to Virginia Tech shortly after.

- 247Sports: Three-star, No. 94 athlete, No. 30 player in Va.
- ESPN: Three-star, No. 92 athlete, No. 34 player in Va.
Grant was a dominant quarterback for Nansemond River and was recruited by Army and Navy to potentially play that role in college. However, he also played safety, and that is expected to be the role he plays for the Hokies.
