Virginia Tech women's basketball was picked 10th in the 18-team ACC ahead of the 2025-26 season, the conference announced Tuesday.

The Hokies finished eighth last season with a 9-9 league record after being picked 12th in the preseason poll. Headlined by returning starters Carleigh Wenzel and Carys Baker, they open the season on Tuesday, Nov. 4, vs. Towson at 6 p.m. ET in Cassell Coliseum.

Preseason All-ACC Team


No Virginia Tech player made the preseason All-ACC team. For the second straight year, Notre Dame point guard Hannah Hidalgo was named preseason player of the year.

NC State, Duke and Louisville each had two players on the 10-person team. Duke guard Emilee Skinner headlined the league's all-freshman team.
