Virginia Tech women's basketball announced its complete non-conference schedule for the 2025-26 season on Friday.
Two games in Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands — vs. BYU and then Oregon State or Vanderbilt — and an ACC/SEC Challenge contest vs. Florida are the highlights. Their lone road trip is at James Madison on Nov. 23.

Tech opens the year on Tuesday, Nov. 4, vs. Towson — one day after the men's opener vs. Charleston Southern. Loyola (Md.) and Gardner-Webb visit after that on Nov. 9 and Nov. 13, respectively. Those three squads won a combined 30 games last season and finished with an average NET ranking of 290.
Things ramp up a little bit for the Hokies when they host Coastal Carolina on Nov. 15. The Chanticleers posted a 23-9 (12-6 Sun Belt) record last season, ranked 21st in turnovers forced per game (20.3) and participated in the WNIT with a NET ranking of 122. It'll be the first meeting between the two schools.
After Niagara (No. 353 in NET) visits on Nov. 20, Tech treks up Interstate 81 to Harrisonburg for its only true road game in non-conference play at James Madison on Sunday, Nov. 23. The Hokies and Dukes last met in the 2019 WNIT, a 70-66 JMU win. It'll be the 37th all-time clash, a series Tech leads 22-14. In nine seasons under head coach Sean O'Regan, who replaced Kenny Brooks, the Dukes have made the postseason six times.
Tech will face BYU for the first time in program history on Nov. 27 in the first game of Paradise Jam in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It'll play Oregon State or Vanderbilt in the second round of the event on Nov. 29. The Beavers and Commodores each made the NCAA Tournament last season — the former as the West Coast Conference champion and the latter as an at-large with a NET ranking of No. 22.
The Hokies drew Florida in the ACC/SEC Challenge and will host that event for the first time on Thursday, Dec. 4. In the first two years of the challenge, they were on the road at LSU and Georgia. (In the final year of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, they hosted Nebraska.) It'll be their fifth clash with the Gators, who made a run to the WBIT semifinals in March after beating Texas Tech.
Tech closes its non-conference schedule against Presbyterian (Dec. 10), East Tennessee State (Dec. 14) and Radford (Dec. 21). The Buccaneers, who went 17-13 (8-6) last year and had a NET ranking of No. 183, are the most talented of the three teams on paper. And like the last few seasons, ACC play should begin in early December.
