Virginia Tech picked up another commitment on Thursday, this time from 2026 quarterback Cole Bergeron. The Hokies gained a commitment from 2027 quarterback Ben Musser last week. Bergeron is the first — and likely only — quarterback verbal for the 2026 class.

Hailing from Lafayette, La., Bergeron chose the Hokies over Colorado and Georgia Tech, who were his other finalists. He is also listed with scholarship offers from Indiana and UCLA, as well as numerous smaller programs.

At 6-4, 210, Bergeron is considered a pass-first quarterback who is a natural fit for the type of offense that offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery has run historically, though he does have experience running the read option.

Bergeron is ranked the No. 14 player in Louisiana by 247Sports and the No. 27 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class.
