Virginia Tech men's basketball announced its finalized non-conference schedule for the 2025-26 season on Friday morning.
The Hokies have pieced together their upcoming slate over the past few months, which is highlighted by the Battle 4 Atlantis over Thanksgiving, and recently put the finishing touches on it. With the ACC moving to an 18-game conference schedule from the previous 20-game model, Tech had two more non-conference games to schedule.
Here's a look at the 13 games, eight of which are in Blacksburg:

The first opportunity to see this Hokies team will come on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 1 p.m. ET in an exhibition vs. Duquesne in Cassell Coliseum â the day after the Friday night football game vs. Cal in Lane Stadium. A former Atlantic 10 counterpart, Tech last faced the Dukes in March 2009 in the NIT.
Tech officially opens its campaign on Monday, Nov. 3, vs. Charleston Southern. After that, it ships up to the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn., to face Providence in the Hall of Fame Series on Saturday, Nov. 8. The last time a Mike Young-led squad played at that venue, the Hokies upset No. 3 Villanova in 2020.
After playing at The Palestra in Philadelphia last year, Saint Joseph's makes a return trip to Blacksburg on Nov. 12. The Hokies are 3-0 against the Hawks in Cassell Coliseum, with the last visit coming in February 2000.
Charlotte and Bryant visit over the next week on Nov. 16 and Nov. 19, respectively. A former Metro Conference foe, Tech last saw the 49ers in 1999. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are coming off an America East championship and have a new head coach in Jamion Christian, who replaced now-VCU coach Phil Martelli Jr.
The Hokies will spend Thanksgiving week in the Bahamas (Nov. 26-28) competing in the Battle 4 Atlantis, a three-game event that features Colorado State, Saint Mary's, USF, Vanderbilt, VCU, Western Kentucky and Wichita State. Matchups have yet to be revealed.
Tech's lone true road game in non-conference play is at South Carolina in the ACC/SEC Challenge on Dec. 2. It'll be the third straight season the Hokies have faced the Gamecocks.
The Hokies host an in-state adversary in George Mason on Dec. 6. The Patriots are coming off a 27-9 (15-3 A-10) season spearheaded by former Tech players Darius Maddox and Jalen Haynes (who both departed). It'll be just the third-ever meeting between the programs, with the previous two coming in the 1991-92 season.
Tech closes out the slate with buy games against Western Carolina (Dec. 11), Maryland Eastern. Shore (Dec. 14) and Elon (Dec. 20), with ACC play expected to begin after Christmas.
