With the 2026 recruiting class yet to be completed, Virginia Tech got off to a good start with 2027 recruiting with the commitment of quarterback Ben Musser, a rising junior from Georgia.
Musser is the first commitment for the Hokies for the 2027 class, and he is listed with offers from Cincinnati, Nebraska, Purdue, Vanderbilt, UNLV, Appalachian State, Liberty and others. In very early 2027 rankings, he’s listed as the No. 40 prospect in Georgia by 247Sports, as well as the No. 22 overall quarterback for his class.
Musser is a dual-threat quarterback who put up the following numbers as a sophomore:
Passing: 125-of-207 (60.4%) for 1,472 yards, 15 TDs, 8 INTs
Rushing: 78 carries, 768 yards, 9.7 ypc, 8 TDs
He is the first high school quarterback to commit to Virginia Tech during the tenure of offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery.
