Tyrell Simpson
Offensive Line, Class of 2026
North Brunswick, Leland, N.C.
6-7, 310
Virginia Tech picked up another commitment from North Brunswick (Leland, N.C.) offensive tackle Tyrell Simpson on Monday afternoon.
Simpson, who was previously committed to Rutgers, is the second offensive line prospect for the Hokies’ 2026 recruiting class under new coach Matt Moore.
He originally committed to Rutgers less than a month ago — on May 31 during his official visit — but continued to be open to other programs. He was eventually convinced to flip to Virginia Tech. Ranked as the No. 33 prospect in the state of North Carolina, he was also heavily recruited by Kentucky and Liberty.
Listed at 6-7, 310, Simpson is expected to play offensive tackle at the college level. Fellow offensive lineman commit Buddy Wegdam, of Woodberry Forest (Va.), is also expected to play offensive tackle. The Hokies will likely sign a large offensive line class this year as Moore continues to rebuild the unit with his own players.
