Two Hokies football players are headed to the portal as the spring cycle gets underway.

Quarterback Davi Belfort plans to go in, according to a report by On3 Sports that Belfort retweeted, while offensive lineman Web Davidson announced his intentions on social media. Neither played in a game at Virginia Tech.

Belfort, a three-star prospect from the 2024 class out of South Florida, redshirted last season and served as the team's No. 4 quarterback but got the most reps in Saturday's spring game with Kyron Drones and Pop Watson both out. He went 7-for-11 for 51 yards and a touchdown, adding 36 yards on the ground.

"Davi has run the ball well," head coach Brent Pry said about his development near the end of spring. "Needs to throw the ball better. Make better decisions."

Barring a portal addition at quarterback this spring, it means the Hokies' third-string quarterback will be a true freshman who just enrolled this winter, either Kelden Ryan or A.J. Brand.

Davidson was a three-star prospect in the 2024 class out of Macon, Georgia. He worked at guard this spring.

The spring portal is open through April 25.
