Myah Hazelton and Ramiya White became the first two Hokies women's basketball players to enter the transfer portal on Tuesday, they each announced on social media. They'll each have three years of eligibility remaining.

Hazelton (6-4) was committed to the previous Virginia Tech staff and stuck to her pledge when Megan Duffy took over. The Baltimore, Md., native recorded six points and three rebounds in 37 minutes across eight games this year, highlighted by four points in the season opener vs. UNC Wilmington. In the first round of the WBIT against North Carolina A&T, she grabbed three boards.

White (6-5) was previously a Kentucky signee but reopened her recruitment due to a coaching change and chose to follow then-Wildcats assistant coach Jen Hoover to Blacksburg. The Louisville, Ky., product posted 21 points and 24 rebounds in 15 appearances off the bench as a freshman. That included six points vs. Coppin State and a five-point, eight-board performance vs. Davidson in Fort Myers, Fla.

With those two departing and seniors Matilda Ekh and Rose Micheaux graduating, the Hokies have seven returning scholarship players for the 2025-26 season. However, Tech adds three freshmen this offseason, all of whom were McDonald's All-American Game nominees: Kate Sears (5-9, G, Boone, N.C.), Amani Jenkins (6-3, F, Johnston, Iowa) and Aniya Trent (6-3, F, Springboro, Ohio). Jenkins (No. 81) and Sears (No. 87) were ESPN top-100 prospects, too.

Carys Baker, Kayl Petersen and Jenkins are all versatile players who can stretch the floor while Trent is more of a traditional post player — something the Hokies will seek out in the transfer portal this spring.
