Virginia Tech added another four-star wide receiver in the 2025 class on Saturday when Cameron Sparks committed during the Navy All-American Bowl.

The Chattanooga, Tenn., native is a product of the Baylor School who selected the Hokies over Arkansas and Mississippi State, his other two finalists. He held a number of other high-profile offers, ranging from Auburn, Florida State, Georgia and Miami to Michigan, Michigan State, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin. Duke, Louisville and Virginia were some of the other ACC schools in pursuit.

Sparks is the No. 393 prospect in the country, per the 247Sports Composite, which lists him as the No. 12 player in Tennessee and the No. 18 athlete in the nation. ESPN and Rivals have him as a four-star prospect while 247Sports and On3 rank him as a three-star.

A dual-sport athlete who also excels on the hardwood, Sparks played both receiver and linebacker for the Baylor School. He was an all-state performer at wide receiver this year according to the Tennessee Football Coaches Association.

Virginia Tech first offered Sparks in November 2021 under Justin Fuente, and Brent Pry's staff reaffirmed the offer in April 2022. He took an unofficial visit to Blacksburg in April 2023, and though it seemed like his recruitment was trending in a different direction last year — in February 2024, he announced a top six of Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Michigan and Tennessee — he eventually landed with the Hokies.

He's another huge addition to Fontel Mines' already stacked wide receiver room. Of the 11 wideouts on the 2025 roster, seven are former four-star recruits: Donavon Greene (Wake Forest), Cameron Seldon (Tennessee), Keylen Adams, Chanz Wiggins, Micah Matthews, Shamarius Peterkin and now Sparks. The Hokies also recently picked up Carnell Warren, a four-star talent in the class of 2026.

Sparks is the 20th high school commitment in the 2025 class for Virginia Tech and the third since the regular season ended. Cornerbacks Jordan Crim and Jahmari DeLoatch verballed around signing day.
