The Hokie Way’s 2024 “Stone-by-Stone” fundraising campaign has wrapped up, and they are pleased to report that Hokie fans donated a total of just over $600,000, well beyond the campaign's original goal of raising $400,000 via $200k in donations and $200k in matching gifts.
Donations to the campaign totaled $351,547. With $250,000 of those funds matched by generous donors, $601,547 was raised in support of Virginia Tech NIL and the Hokie Way’s local charitable partners.
The “Stone-by-Stone” campaign ran throughout the month of December 2024 and wrapped up on Saturday, January 4, 2025. It's possible that more checks will come in to support the campaign, thus increasing the total raised.
The campaign originally launched with $200,000 in matching funds and a goal of raising $200,000 more, for a total of $400,000. When the original goal was met, $50,000 more in matching funds were pledged for a total of $250k in matching funds.
The campaign was supported by a pair of $100,000 donations, as well as a few five-figure donations and a "crowdsource" component of smaller donations.
In the end, there were 365 donations, so the average donation was nearly $1,000.
