Virginia Tech offensive lineman Gunner Givens, a high school star a few years ago from just up the road at Lord Botetourt, has entered the transfer portal.

The former four-star prospect, who was the No. 225 player nationally in the 2022 class, never quite found his footing with the Hokies.
He spent two years on the defensive line, appearing in three games and making one tackle. After a switch to the offensive line last spring, he got into two games this fall in mop-up duty, playing three snaps.
He's the 10th scholarship player to enter the portal or announce his intentions to and the third on the offensive line, joining Xavier Chaplin and Lance Williams.
