Defensive linemen Antwaun Powell-Ryland and Aeneas Peebles were both named first-team All-ACC on Tuesday, two of six total selections on the three teams for the Hokies.
Running back Bhayshul Tuten was a second-team pick, while cornerback Mansoor Delane, punter Peter Moore and specialist Jaylin Lane were third-team selections.
Four Hokies were honorable mentions: tackle Xavier Chaplin, guard Kaden Moore, cornerback Dorian Strong and kicker John Love.
Powell-Ryland finished second nationally with 16 sacks, trailing Boston College's Donovan Ezeiruaku by a half sack. APR became the first Tech defensive lineman to reach double digits in sacks since Darryl Tapp in 2005 and is tied for third on the Hokies' single-season sack list behind Bruce Smith (22 in 1984) and Corey Moore (17 in 1999).
Peebles transferred from Duke and picked up where he left off, finishing with 31 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss and three sacks. A look at some of his numbers on Pro Football Focus supports his selection even more. He ranked second among ACC defensive tackles with 28 pressures and with an 85.2 grade that was tops on the Hokies.
It's the first time since Woody Baron in 2015 that the Hokies had a first-team All-ACC selection on the defensive line.
The last time Tech had two first-team all-conference picks on the defensive line was back in 1999 when Moore and John Engelberger were both All-Big East picks.
If not for a late-sesaon ankle injury that limited him down the stretch, Tuten might have been on the top line as well. The tailback still became the Hokies' third 1,000-yard rusher since 2012, finishing with 1,159 yards and 17 total touchdowns that tied for the ACC lead. He became the first Tech running back to top 1,000 yards and run for 12 or more touchdowns since Ryan Williams' record-setting year in 2009.
Delane finished tied for third in the ACC with four interceptions, getting his final one to seal the victory against UVa last weekend.
Lane filled in for an injured Tucker Holloway and averaged 10.1 yards on 24 punt returns, taking one back for 58 yards for a touchdown against Marshall.
Moore had a 45.1-yard average that ranked second in the ACC. He's second all-time at Virginia Tech behind his predecessor Oscar Bradburn with a 43.4-yard career average.
