Virginia Tech added to its 2025 class on Sunday with the commitment of Highland Springs (Va.) star Brennan Johnson.

The 6-foot, 190-pound linebacker is part of a legacy Hokies family that includes his brother, current Tech defensive back Braylon Johnson, and his father, Loren, who played in Blacksburg from 1995-98. Loren recorded five interceptions, 31 pass breakups and 10 tackles for loss in his career.
Brennan is the 17th commit in Tech's 2025 class and the third linebacker, joining Culpeper's Brett Clatterbaugh and DeMatha's Noah Chambers.
A three-star prospect, Johnson is the Hokies' 11th in-state commitment in the class. The 247Sports composite ranks him as the No. 1,450 overall player nationally and the 40th-best player in the Commonwealth.
The Virginia Class 6 Player of the Year in 2023, Johnson chose the Hokies over Maryland and Virginia. His other Power 4 offers and interests included Boston College, Duke, Indiana, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Carolina and Tennessee.
