Stone Bridge defensive tackle Christian Evans became the seventh commitment of Virginia Tech football's class of 2025 on Thursday afternoon.

The 6-foot-3, 280-pound lineman from Ashburn, Va., visited Blacksburg on June 14 and committed to the Hokies less than a week later. He's the sixth player from the Commonwealth of Virginia in the class.

The 247Sports composite rankings lists Evans as a three-star prospect with a national ranking of No. 441. It has him as the No. 14 overall player in Virginia, too. Rivals is even higher on him — he's a four-star talent and the fourth-best player in the Commonwealth.

Evans ultimately chose the Hokies over North Carolina, Oklahoma, Penn State and Virginia. He took official visits to Chapel Hill (May 31) and Charlottesville (June 7) and had a planned trip to Norman for June 21. Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Michigan State and Pitt were some of his other Power 5 offers.

Evans is the fourth Virginia Tech commitment on the defensive side of the ball in the 2025 class and the first up front. He joins linebacker Brett Clatterbaugh, cornerback Knahlij Harrell and safety Sheldon Robinson — all of whom hail from the Commonwealth.

He's the second commitment from Stone Bridge High School in the last two years, joining current tight end Ezekiel Wimbush. Other former Hokies from there include the Wang brothers, Ed and David, and current Virginia Tech analyst Jeron Gouveia-Winslow.
