Hokies edge rusher Antwaun Powell-Ryland has NFL dreams, but he's not pursuing them quite yet.
Powell-Ryland announced in a Sunday social media post that he's returning to Virginia Tech in 2024, a boost for a team looking to build off a stepping-stone 6-6 season.

After transferring from Florida, APR had 9.5 sacks in 2023, the second-most in the ACC. It earned him second-team All-ACC honors last week.
With a half sack more, he'll become the seventh player in Virginia Tech history to reach double digits in a single season. As a team, Virginia Tech finished second in the ACC in sacks to Florida State with 38, its most since 2014.
Powell-Ryland, who hails from Portsmouth, is the first high-profile player to announce his return in 2024 for Tech. Receivers Ali Jennings, Jaylin Lane, Da'Quan Felton and Stephen Gosnell, tight end Nick Gallo, defensive tackle Josh Fuga and linebacker Keonta Jenkins all have COVID years they could use.
