Per ESPN, Blue is the No. 31 overall prospect in the class of 2024 and is the top-ranked player in Florida. She held offers from Arizona, Boston College, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Ohio State and Tennessee, among others. She unofficially visited the Hokies in January and made another trip to Blacksburg in July, according to her Instagram.
Blue is the second pledge in the Hokies' 2024 class, joining Myah Hazelton, a 6-3 guard/forward from Baltimore, Md. who committed last June. She's also Tech's sixth top-100 recruit in the last three classes:
2022: Carleigh Wenzel (No. 44, per ESPN)
2023: Carys Baker (No. 58), Mackenzie Nelson (No. 65), Samyha Suffren (No. 69), Clara Strack (No. 95)
2024: Lexi Blue (No. 31)
Blue is the highest-rated recruit to commit to the Hokies in the Kenny Brooks era. For reference, two-time ACC Player of the Year and All-American Elizabeth Kitley was the No. 33 overall prospect in the class of 2019. Aisha Sheppard, Brooks' first-ever commit at Tech, was No. 34 in the class of 2017.
