Chanz Wiggins
Wide Receiver, Class of 2024
King George, King George, VA
6-3, 185
On Thursday, Virginia Tech picked up a commitment from King George (VA) wide receiver Chanz Wiggins, who was one of the top wideout targets on the Hokies’ board. He's the 14th overall commit in the class of 2024, the fourth from the Commonwealth of Virginia and the first wide receiver.
Wiggins, who visited Virginia Tech officially on the weekend of June 2, took other official visits to Duke (June 9) and Maryland (June 23). He also held Power 5 offers from North Carolina, Penn State, Pitt, Virginia and West Virginia.
Wiggins' recruiting ranking varies depending on the service. ESPN and Rivals list him as a four-star prospect while On3 and 247Sports rate him as a three-star. Depending on who you ask, Wiggins is listed at 6-2 or 6-3, and he will play an outside receiver role for Virginia Tech.
Wiggins is the second top-10 in-state commitment for the Hokies, joining Gerard Johnson. The defensive end from Cox High School in Virginia Beach became the 13th commit in the class on July 1. Tech's two other verbals from the Commonwealth — Joshua Clarke (ATH, Oakton) and Noah Jenkins (S, Highland Springs) — are top-20 prospects.
