The AP Basketball Poll is out, and Virginia Tech is ranked No. 16, the Hokies' first ranking since the end of the 2018-19 season under Buzz Williams.

Virginia Tech received votes in five different AP Polls during Mike Young's first season, but the Hokies never made the Top 25, so this week's ranking represents a new achievement for Mike Young in Blacksburg.

The Hokies' ranking comes as a result of their 81-73 overtime win over then-No. 3 Villanova on Saturday night.

Virginia Tech's next game is at home Thursday night against VMI. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 PM, and the game will be televised on the ACC Network.
