Virginia Tech received a verbal commitment from Memorial High School (OK) point guard Sean Pedulla on Tuesday morning. He is the first member of Mike Young’s 2021 recruiting class.

Pedulla is a 6-1, 175 point guard who chose the Hokies over Power 5 offers from Oklahoma State and Minnesota. He also had offers from Tulsa, Louisiana Tech, Colorado State, and others. He is ranked as the No. 141 prospect in the country by 247Sports, and the No. 25 point guard. He is also ranked as the No. 2 player in Oklahoma.
Virginia Tech loses guards Wabissa Bede and Cartier Diarra following the 2020-21 season, which means that Pedulla could have an opportunity for playing time from the very beginning of his career. He picked up an offer from the Hokies in July after an impressive summer on the AAU circuit.
