Virginia Tech received a verbal commitment from Shelby (NC) tight end Jack Hollifield on Saturday evening. He becomes the 22nd commitment of the Hokies’ 2021 recruiting class. He is also the brother of Tech starting linebacker Dax Hollifield.
Hollifield chose the Hokies over an offer list that includes Maryland, Michigan, NC State, UNC, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and a few others. He is listed as an inside linebacker on 247Sports, but he’s expected to play the tight end position for Virginia Tech. He joins fellow North Carolinian Jared Gibble in Tech’s 2-man tight end class.
Hollifield is ranked as the No. 40 player by 247 in a very deep North Carolina class of 2021.
