Virginia Tech picked up a verbal commitment on Monday afternoon from Alabama running back Kenji Christian. He is the 20th commitment of the 2021 recruiting class for the Hokies.

Christian is a big running back at 6-2, 200. He is ranked the No. 36 running back overall and the No. 22 prospect in Alabama by 247Sports. He chose the Hokies over Power 5 offers from Arkansas, Ole Miss, Duke, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Kansas State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Tennessee, West Virginia, Utah, Virginia and Washington State. He eventually picked the Hokies over Ole Miss despite having never visited the Blacksburg camps.
Christian is the third running back commitment of the 2021 class, joining Malachi Thomas and Chance Black, though Black could also play wide receiver at the college level.
