Virginia Tech cornerback Caleb Farley has opted out of the 2020 season. The news was first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, and Farley posted a video of his announcement on social media shortly thereafter.

Farley is regarded by most as a potential first round pick in the NFL Draft, and he noted in the video that he would spend his fall preparing for next spring's draft. He was the top rated cover corner by Pro Football Focus in 2019. He had four interceptions this past year for the Hokies, including one returned for a touchdown.
