Virginia Tech received a verbal commitment from 2021 athlete Nykelius Johnson on Monday night. The 3-star athlete camped at Tech over the summer, where he received an offer from area recruiter James Shibest and head coach Justin Fuente.

Johnson is the second 2021 prospect to commit to Virginia Tech, joining New Jersey safety Jalen Hoyle. He is expected to play the cornerback position for the Hokies.
Tech is the first offer for Johnson, though he’s already listed as a 3-star player and the No. 7 player in the state of South Carolina by 247Sports.
