Virginia Tech men’s basketball picked up a graduate transfer commitment from 6-8 center Branden Johnson of Alabama State.

Johnson averaged 4.3 points and 3.7 rebounds in 2018-19. In 2017-18, he averaged 7.7 points and 6.8 rebounds. He shoots 63.3% from the field for his career, though he’s just a 37.6% free throw shooter, and he’s never made a three-pointer. He is 6-8, though he only weighs 205.
Johnson will be eligible right away, and he’ll have one year of eligibility remaining. With his commitment, the Virginia Tech roster now looks like this…
