Virginia Tech men’s basketball received the first verbal commitment of the Mike Young era on Saturday when 2019 guard Hunter Cattoor verballed to the Hokies. Cattoor had previously signed with Young at Wofford.
Cattoor is from Orlando, FL where he attended Bishop Moore High School. He held a large number of scholarship offers from low-major programs such as Wofford, Belmont, Bucknell, Bradley, etc. He also held a mid-major offer from hometown UCF, and other mid-major offers from programs such as FAU and UNC-Wilmington.
Cattoor is a 6-3 guard who can play the point but is considered a combo guard. He averaged 18.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 3.2 steals last season as a senior. Cattoor shot 47% from the field and 38% from 3-point range as a junior.
With Cattoor’s commitment, Virginia Tech’s 2019-20 basketball roster now looks like this…
