Virginia Tech’s Men’s Track & Field team clinched a share of the ACC Indoor Championship with Florida State in Blacksburg over the weekend. Both teams finished with 117 points.
The finish marked the 14th ACC Championship for the track & field program. Nine of those championships have been won by the men’s team, with five of them coming in the Indoor season. The men’s program has won an ACC Championship in seven of the last nine years.
The Hokies had some impressive individual performances…
Deakin Volz: Finished No. 1 in the pole vault for the second straight years.
Peter Seufer: No. 1 in the 3,000 meters
Jacory Patterson: No. 1 in the 400 meters, becoming Tech’s first-ever winner in that event. He broke his own school record with a time of 46.04.
Isaiah Rogers: Earned 16 points in the field events and was named ACC Field MVP.
Many Hokies also turned in personal best performances during the event.
