Virginia Tech added to it’s increasing offensive line depth by picking up a commitment from Coastal Carolina transfer interior lineman Brock Hoffman on Friday night.

Hoffman was recruited by Virginia Tech out of high school, but he never received a scholarship offer. He enrolled at Coastal Carolina instead, becoming the first true freshman in school history to start at center. He spent his sophomore season at right guard. He could potentially play any of the interior offensive line positions for the Hokies.
Hoffman has two years of eligibility remaining, as well as a redshirt, if needed. However, he has applied for a waiver from the NCAA to play immediately because of a coaching change at Coastal Carolina. If he’s granted the waiver, he’s expected to contribute in 2019 for Tech. He also held offers from FBS programs Appalachian State and Charlotte.
