Virginia Tech picked up a commitment on Friday when Atlanta tailback Tahj Gary picked the Hokies over South Carolina, Arkansas, Georgia Tech and multiple other Power 5 programs.  The news was first reported by 247Sports.

Gary becomes the second tailback to commit to Virginia Tech in the 2019 recruiting class, joining Florida native Keshawn King.  He is the 18th overall commit of the class.

Gary had a big junior season at Woodward Academy, putting up the following numbers…

Rushing: 134 carries, 1,305 yards, 9.7 ypc, 19 TDs
Receiving: 37 catches, 790 yards, 21.4 ypr, 11 TDs

He is on pace to put up equally good numbers halfway through his senior season.

Rushing: 65 carries, 652 yards, 10 ypc, 7 TDs
Receiving: 18 catches, 411 yards, 22.8 ypr, 5 TDs

Virginia Tech is expected to be finished with tailback recruiting for the 2019 recruiting class.
