Per a tweet from JucoReport.com, Virginia Tech redshirt freshman guard Tyrie Jackson is transferring out of the Hokie program.

Jackson did not corroborate the report on his own Twitter feed, where his profile (as of this writing) still identifies him as "Virginia Tech MBB #1." But it's worth noting that Jackson doesn't tweet very often (just 23 tweets, none since Dec. 6 2017).
Jackson, from Tift County H.S. in Tifton, GA, played in 28 games in 2017-18, after redshirting in 2016-17. He averaged 3.0 points per game in 7.2 minutes per game, with highs of nine points twice (Detroit Mercy, The Citadel) and 21 minutes (Detroit Mercy).
