Virginia Tech added some much needed depth to their quarterback group on Friday as AJ Bush announced he would enroll with the Hokies in the spring semester.

Bush will practice with the team this spring, giving the Hokies an experienced quarterback on scholarship this offseason. Redshirt-freshman Josh Jackson has yet to see game action, while true-freshman Hendon Hooker is expected to redshirt this season. Tech's other two quarterbacks, Jack Click and Chase Mummau, are both walk-ons.
Jerod Evans announced earlier this week that he would forego his final season of eligibility and declare for the NFL Draft. The move left Virginia Tech in a scramble to add quarterback depth, with Bush ultimately being the answer.
Bush is a 6-foot-4, 225-pound recruit who originally played for Nebraska. Bush then transferred to Iowa Western Community College, where he played in 10 games. Bush passed for 602 yards on 114 pass attempts and only completed 45.6 percent of those attempts. Bush also threw eight interceptions. He did run for 285 yards and five touchdowns.
