Virginia Tech hosted nearly a dozen recruits on official visits this past weekend, Dec. 9-11, including defensive line target Victor Dimukeje.
“I enjoyed it,” Dimukeje said. “I got to spend time with the players and the coaches and get a better feel of the school… It was a great weekend."
Dimukeje is a 3-star prospect from Baltimore, MD. He’s rated as the 20th-best player in Maryland and the 67th-best player at defensive tackle.
At 6-foot-2, 255-pounds, Dimukeje’s size makes him a versatile recruit and despite his big frame, he says Virginia Tech is recruiting him at defensive end.
This past weekend was Dimukeje’s second visit to Virginia Tech, but it was his mother’s first.
“She loved it,” Dimukeje said. “She just loved the atmosphere and she got a good vibe about the environment and the people around. It’s just a calm, peaceful, nice-looking campus.”
Safeties Coach Galen Scott has been Dimukeje’s primary recruiter and even made an in-home visit just recently. Dimukeje said Scott reaches out to him several times a week to see how he’s doing.

“We have a really close relationship,” Dimukeje said. “He’s been recruiting me since March."
Dimukeje says he’s in no rush to make his decision. He’s still considering Duke, Maryland and Rutgers, as well as Virginia Tech. He says he’s looking for a program that will put him in the best position to succeed on and off the field.
“The school where I have the best relationship with the coaches and where I feel is a perfect fit with academics,” Dimukeje said. “I want a good football program I can succeed in.”
Dimukeje plans on making at least one more official visit but says he hopes to commit sometime in January. According to 247Sports, Dimukeje will make his official visit to Duke on Jan. 20.
“Coach (Charley Wiles) told me to take all my visits and make sure it was the best fit,” Dimukeje said. “He told me not to rush or anything and to make sure I’m one-hundred percent sure what program I choose is the right fit for me.”
