Virginia Tech's 2016-17 basketball schedule was released on Monday afternoon. Tech will open the season on Friday, November 11 at home against Maine. It will be the first of 17 home games this season.
Tech will play a tough stretch of games from November 24 through November 30. They'll take on New Mexico in the opening round of the Wooden Legacy in Fullerton, CA. Then they'll play Texas A&M or Cal State-Northridge the next day, and they'll have another game two days later on November 27. Before flying home to Blacksburg, they'll stop off in Ann Arbor to take on the Michigan Wolverines.
Tech's premier non-conference home matchup will come against Ole Miss on Sunday, December 11. That game will be televised at noon by ESPNU.
ACC play will begin when the Hokies host Duke on Saturday, December 31 on ESPN2 at noon (naturally when the students are on Winter Break). The ACC Tournament starts on Tuesday, March 7 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
