As a junior last season, Monroe rushed for 1,591 yards and 16 touchdowns, averaging almost nine yards per carry. Brooks has tallied 2,415 rushing yards in his high school career. He was named to the second-team AP Class A all-state team as a specialist, first-team All-Eastern Conference, Eastern Conference offensive MVP, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Fabulous 22 South, and Tribune-Review Terrific 25 for his junior season performance. <br /> <br /> "He has power and speed," Duquesne Head Coach Pat Monroe told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "He has legitimately squatted 600 pounds. That's an unheard of amount for a running back, at any level. If me, you and another guy jump on his back, he's going to be OK." <br /> <br />
