Notes
Started at left tackle in 2010, earning honorable mention all-league honors for his performance. Started on the O-line once again in 2011, but he also saw some action on the defensive line. He participated in the 2011 Chesapeake Bowl. Chris Coleman's Scouting Report: Jack Willenbrock is a solid offensive line prospect who will need a couple of years to add weight and strength before he’s ready to contribute. His size reminds me of Beau Warren out of high school, though he is projected to play guard rather than center. Willenbrock plays tackle for his high school team, and he is asked to pull a lot. He has quick feet and very good acceleration and speed for an offensive line prospect, and he shouldn’t have any trouble getting out to the linebackers once he gets to college. Willenbrock’s most pressing issue is his lack of size, but he plays very hard, and has good feet, so he is a good long-term offensive line prospect for Virginia Tech. Also, Willenbrock played half of last season with a broken fibula. He has the right mix of toughness, character and athleticism, and he’s a good start to offensive line recruiting in this class.
