   1. That middle screen was so open, Reynolds probably didn't need the blockers. I could watch that on repeat all day. 2. Grunk was really shifty on that run, Altuner whiffs on his man and Hawkins gets in the way just enough for him to squeak thru. 3. Overton is so explosive, great play by him. #4 for Maryland should be benched for that weak tackle attempt. 4. Yes that hold call was super iffy. 5. My guess is eventually on 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1, Overton is going to go to the left side and catch a pitch after a fake handoff. 6. TBF Johnson catches a Double Team does the LB engage the OL there instead of filling the gap? Or is he supposed to and then someone else is responsible for the gap/outside? I feel like #30 is to far to his left and should be farther right. Chambers seems too far away to catch him even if Cortez bunches it up. 7. Was Chambers supposed to go with the TE or the CB goes with the TE and Chambers takes the RB/WR in the slot? I think Chambers gets stuck in no man's land there, and his feet get tied up.       7. Based on the way the guys around him were playing, it looks like he should've carried vertical with the TE. But the secondary was mixed up all game long, so I hesitate to assign blame.

      The LB made the long run a lot easier, at least, but you gotta credit the ball placement and Overton's jets, too.

   If Washington had been accurate with his long throws on Saturday night there would be much more analysis of what is going on in the Hokies’ secondary. There were Terp receivers running free all night and VT defenders looking at each other as if this was their first game together - very disturbing.

   Brandon did you see any of the running plays where we pulled the backside guard and tackle? I thought that was killing us against ODU, cause it was slow developing and crammed 12-15 guys in 5 square yards. Seemed like we avoided that against Maryland.

      You're spot-on. It was a very zone heavy night. The counter/power pulls I remember seeing all came off playaction.

      My gut tells me there just weren't as many spectacular individual plays to sustain drives, and Tech was probably out of/didnt need to show new plays.
